This Whole House Remodel in Blue Ridge involved a comprehensive transformation aimed at addressing the needs of a couple facing health challenges in an overly cluttered home. Our approach began with understanding their requirements and delivering a design that encompassed wider doorways and key renovations such as a newly remodeled kitchen and a single, more accessible bathroom derived from two smaller ones. Both the kitchen and bathroom incorporate adaptable design elements including removable cabinet fronts for seated use and taller toe kicks for ease of access.
The kitchen features an island with varied countertop heights catering to both standing and seated activities, coupled with bright, glare-free lighting throughout. In the bathroom, innovative adaptations include converting the linen closet into a dual-access pullout with an integrated laundry chute to the basement. A substantial curbless shower equipped with a perimeter trench drain prevents water spillage, while an array of grab bars enhances safety. Notably, dual commodes uniquely cater to the clients’ specific needs, exemplifying our dedication to customizable solutions. A chair lift in the kitchen further facilitates access to the basement laundry area, ensuring both safety and convenience in their newly rejuvenated living space.
