Project Description

The Salem, VA New Construction was an inspiring endeavor to build a home for a veteran who lost both legs in service to our country. This new construction on pastureland provided much-needed essential accessibility features while offering space for the client’s beloved horses. The centerpiece of this project was a magnificent wrap-around deck beginning with a ramp from the circular driveway and culminating in a covered porch with stunning mountain views. Inside, the home’s design boasts a great room with a vaulted ceiling and a wood stove, exuding warmth and grandeur.

The kitchen was a focal point of accessibility, equipped with a spacious island and both manual and motorized cabinet lifts for easy access. The thoughtful design extends to the master suite, which includes a curbless shower, roll-under sink, comfort-height commode, and slip-resistant flooring. The remaining portions of the home comprise two additional bedrooms, a second bathroom, and a laundry room, ensuring functional and comprehensive living spaces. Crafting this accessible home was a meaningful way to honor the veteran’s service and provide a safe, beautiful living space tailored to his needs.
