Safe, Accessible, and Fully Rebuilt Veteran’s Bathroom Remodel | Roanoke
Project Description
We take pride in delivering safe, functional spaces for those who’ve served our country. This accessible bathroom remodel for a veteran in Roanoke, VA was a complete overhaul focused on safety, accessibility, and comfort.
The existing bathroom had become dangerous and unstable, with a sinking floor that made it nearly impossible for the veteran to safely use his only bathroom. We performed a full gut renovation, removing all materials down to the studs and replacing compromised floor joists to restore structural integrity. With a clean slate, we redesigned the entire bathroom layout to provide better maneuverability for the veteran’s mobility needs. The space now features a fiberglass curbless walk-in shower equipped with a fold-down shower seat, securely mounted grab bars, a handheld showerhead on a slide bar, and a Posi-Temp pressure-balancing valve for safer water temperature control.
Additional upgrades include a comfort-height toilet, a space-saving vanity for improved clearance, bright overhead lighting, a high-efficiency exhaust fan, and slip-resistant luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring—all chosen to support aging-in-place living and ADA-compliant design.
This project reflects our mission to help veterans and seniors live independently with dignity and safety through expert accessible home remodeling.
